However, LGBTQ individuals are almost 3 times more likely than others to experience a mental health condition, such as depression or anxiety. Additionally, more than half of individuals who identify as transgender experience depression or anxiety. The LGBTQ community is also at a higher risk for suicide. Young people are even more at risk, as they may experience a lack of support at home and fear, hatred or prejudice in school. I have had the pleasure of collaborating with people from various walks of life. I have worked extensively with families and individuals of all ages. I have experience with trauma work, LGBTQIA+ issues, body-image, and social justice concerns. I have a background in teaching yoga and often incorporate mindfulness and somatic practices into my work. I am a queer-identifying and queer-affirming therapist.
Many of my clients seek me out to help with their anxiety, OCD (obsessive-compulsive disorder), depression and relational issues. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community myself I also have clients who seek me out because I can relate to what they are going through in “coming out” and handling relationships. Please note I only work with clients aged 18 and up via teletherapy video sessions.
