Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) is an evidence-based psychotherapy, first developed in the 1980s by Marsha M. Linehan, to treat patients suffering from borderline personality disorder. Since then, DBT’s use has broadened and now it is regularly employed as part of a treatment plan for people struggling with behaviors or emotions they can't control. This can include eating disorders, substance abuse, self-harm, and more. DBT is a skills-based approach that focuses on helping people increase their emotional and cognitive control by learning the triggers that lead to unwanted behaviors. Once triggers are identified, DBT teaches coping skills that include mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness. A therapist specializing in DBT will help you to enhance your own capabilities, improve your motivation, provide support in-the-moment, and better manage your own life with problem-solving strategies. Think this approach might work for you? Reach out to one of TherapyDen’s DBT specialists today.

I founded the Center under the mission of helping my clients achieve better living through the accomplishment of their therapeutic goals. I provide personalized support and guidance to my clients, tailoring the therapeutic experience to the individual needs of each person in a safe and non-judgmental space.
With extensive training in anxiety, depression, life transitions, self-esteem, body image issues, grief, trauma, and more. We work with individuals, couples and children ages 10 and up. I am committed to fostering resilience, building coping skills, and promoting emotional health during key developmental years. In addition, we work with couples to strengthen communication, resolve conflicts, and enhance connection in their relationships.
Being human is often tough. Sometimes we lose our way and can feel stuck and overwhelmed. Sometimes we would like to change parts of our lives or ourselves but don’t know how. Therapy can be an empowering way to promote healing, growth, and wellness. Often, we initially seek treatment to address a specific concern and then begin to uncover other areas of our lives in which we want to make meaningful change. My goal is for this process to feel supportive, affirming, and appropriately challenging.

Our clients come from a wide range of backgrounds but all have one thing in common - they've made a step in a direction to better themselves. Some have been in therapy for years and just need to check in once periodically while some are in crisis and needing more intensive support. Regardless of the level of severity of need everyone deserves to be heard and understood so that they can be and do better.

I specialize in therapy for women, LGBTQAI+ individuals, and people in non-traditional relationships. People may have told you how to think and feel and what is good for you. I strive to be non-judgmental, and to truly hear your goals and work with you to reach them, without telling you what is right for you and your life.

My goal is to work collaboratively with you so that you feel empowered to overcome these challenges and struggles.
