About My Clients
I have experience working with individuals ages 17 to 75 and have worked in a community health agency setting which has given me the tools to provide therapy for a diverse range of clients. I have a particular interest in working with adolescent girls and women in transition (post partum, career transition, divorce, midlife challenges, parenthood and co parenting). I offer outdoor/nature walking therapy sessions in addition to in office and Telehealth.
My Background and Approach
I use a variety of therapeutic techniques through a Person Centered approach and draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness and Movement Therapy to guide our time together. I love meeting with clients on local nature trails when appropriate. Movement and the healing properties of nature contribute to a rich therapy experience. I am passionate about empowering clients to find their authentic voice and to create boundaries that protect their peace.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe we all operate at our best when we are able to be our true selves, without the shaping and editing that occurs with societal restraints. Sometimes it can be challenging to pick apart what is authentically you, and what is the you that is expected, approved of and formed through the influence of others, whether that is family, friends, work colleagues or society at large. Sometimes it takes the guidance of a non biased, non judgmental space to come back to yourself and find peace and freedom in your truth.
