About My Clients
I work with people that are experiencing anxiety in relationships at home and/or work. Also people suffering from regret, sadness or depression around past or current relationships. Being our authentic selves often requires deep insight and healing. However, once we have searched within and healed internal wounds we are more able to communicate honestly and effectively and live free of painful and anxious thoughts and moods. Loving yourself will expand all relationships that you are experience.
My Background and Approach
I use a holistic, integrated approach that is individualized with each of my clients depending on specific needs and goals. I am trained in Cognitive Behavior Therapy(CBT), Mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Co-Occurring Disorders (substance use and mental health challenges), Trauma informed therapy and Supportive psychotherapy. All of these approaches have the ability to strengthen your relationship with your innate self, decrease anxiety and increase overall mood and outlook. I also have years of experience as an adoption social worker and attachment disorders. Every session is YOUR session. I will meet you right where you are on any given day as we work through this thing called "the human condition" and bring more joy, purpose and fulfillment into your life.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that on the day we were born 'we trusted everyone and feared nothing.' However, through the course of our lives things happen to us and we create coping mechanisms, bad habits, cognitive distortions and often a fear of communicating our wants and needs. The therapeutic relationship you will have with your therapist (whether me or another therapist) will offer you a safe space to explore and learn new ways of thinking, new ways of interacting with the world and all of your relationships. Especially the relationship with yourself. I am a mother, was a single mother, now a step mother, a grandmother, a lover of nature and a survivor of this "human condition." I commend you on taking this first step. Taking this first step to look for a therapist is a direct example of the HOPE that resides within you.
