About My Clients

Have you gone most of your life feeling like who you are is fundamentally"wrong"? I understand what you're going through: never feeling good enough, fearing you'd be rejected if people knew the real you, being isolated but wanting badly to be seen for who you are. Shame and trauma can have you feeling lost, and I don't want you to suffer in silence anymore. Trauma-focused therapy can help drastically reduce feelings of isolation, shame, and many other symptoms. Let's help you break free!

My Background and Approach

To decrease symptoms, we'll be focusing on how emotions show up in your body and how you can identify the underlying needs behind them. By giving you tools to emotionally ground yourself, you'll be more ready to meet those parts with compassion and learn how to get those parts to work in your favor. I am trained in EMDR, which can help more deeply process trauma. Rather than hyper-analyzing why you are suffering, EMDR can help your brain reprocess traumatic experiences and have you feeling better without even trying. By reprocessing trauma and helping you understand your deeper emotional needs, ideally, you'd be able to handle any challenge in your life with a feeling of confidence and ease. As a therapist, I have a casual style, and I want to build a relationship with you that is trusting so you can get the most out of therapy. Most of my clinical experience has been working with people processing trauma, religious trauma, shame, existential issues, LGBTQ+ issues, and depression.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that our early childhood experiences heavily dictate how we respond and make sense of things that happen to us in the present. Whether you call it trauma or just having a shitty childhood, these experiences do matter, and when they build up over time I don't believe that they can be merely brushed off. However, by slowing down and paying deeper attention to your inner experiences healing is possible. As a gay man raised in the South, I deeply understand the impact of growing up in a restrictive and unsupportive environment. My journey of overcoming shame and internalized stigma only began when I found support from Queer-affirming providers. This experience taught me that with the right support, transformation is not just possible—it’s within reach for everyone. In my free time, I love to keep up with the latest season of Drag Race, send my friends an ungodly amount of unhinged tik toks, and raise my child (aka my dog, Meg).
