About My Clients
You’re feeling stuck in familiar patterns of shame and self-criticism, and it’s hard to tap into your strengths when you need them most. Whether it's the weight of anxiety or the impact of prejudice and discrimination, especially toward the LGBTQ+ community, it feels overwhelming and you feel vulnerable and out-of-touch with your own voice. You’re ready for help and deserve support as you take steps toward healing and growth—you don’t have to go through this alone.
My Background and Approach
Clients often describe me as warm, patient, and curious—qualities I bring into every session. My approach centers on creating a safe, grounding space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings with mindful awareness and self-compassion. These tools help relieve anxiety, heal from past trauma, and gradually replace self-criticism with self-kindness. Life may be full of challenges, but your therapy and healing don’t have to be rigid and harsh. Together, we’ll work at a pace that feels right for you, allowing you to develop resilience and a deeper connection with yourself. With over a decade of experience, including work in clinic and college settings, I’ve learned to be creative, flexible, and patient as we navigate your path forward. We may even share a laugh from time to time, because growth doesn’t have to be all serious. I’ll meet you where you are, walking alongside you each step of the way.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
When it comes to healing, I believe in the power of challenging the stories we’ve been told about who we’re “supposed” to be—stories shaped by prejudice, shame, and expectations that don’t reflect our true selves. For many, these beliefs come from bigoted words or actions, especially within the LGBTQ+ community. How often do you treat yourself with judgment, in ways you’d never treat a loved one? Together, we can explore where that inner critic came from and whether it’s time for a change. I also believe in the profound healing that comes from mindfulness and self-compassion. Beneath the layers of anxiety, shame, and pain is a clear, wise voice—your authentic self. In therapy, we can increase your connection to that voice, helping you develop a deeper sense of self-compassion for the everyday struggles you encounter. I’m passionate about supporting LGBTQ+ rights from an intersectional lens and advocating for mental health, especially when it comes to destigmatizing seeking help.
