About My Clients
Are you struggling with anxiety, depression, interpersonal difficulties, or the impacts of trauma? Do you wish you could show up differently in your life and with those you love? As we try our best to adapt to the world around us, we can sometimes develop patterns that are unhelpful or that no longer serve us in our current circumstances, which can lead us to feel stuck. I will work alongside you to build insight, foster self-compassion, and help you to identify your own internal resources.
My Background and Approach
I work with my clients to uncover the connections between past experiences and present-day challenges. I am trauma-focused and relational in my approach, incorporating elements of EMDR, CBT, and mindfulness. Together, my clients and I work to challenge unhelpful beliefs and reprocess painful experiences in order to improve present-day functioning. My goal is to help you develop strategies to cope with distressing feelings while simultaneously exploring and addressing underlying contributing factors.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I truly believe that at their core, people make sense. Meaning- our behaviors, thoughts, and feelings (both helpful and unhelpful) are shaped over time as we try our best to adapt to the world around us. This foundational understanding allows me to approach my work with empathy, curiosity, and compassion. I strive to create a therapeutic space where my clients feel heard, understood, and motivated.
