About My Clients
I'm an all inclusive provider, all are welcomed! My specialties are those who identify as LGBTQ, Black, Indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC), individuals living HIV/AIDS, and marginalized populations/communities. Creating a safe space for special groups of people to share freely is the goal. Populations I serve: LGBTQ+, Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC), Hispanic/Latinx, those living with HIV/AIDS, women and birthing people, men (especially of color), sex workers, and many more.
My Background and Approach
Through a combination of methods, I practice from a person-centered approach. Focusing on active and empathetic listening, positive regards, and collaboration, the intent to have the client be a leader in their journey/growth. Additionally, cognitive reframing is used to help clients recognize their strengths regardless of their current situation. I invite everyone to join me in collaboratively facilitating a safe, responsible, warm, yet productive atmosphere to explore the inner you. Open person-centered dialogue is encouraged and used in creating an effective environment for all individuals. I am accepting clients (within NYC) and interning at Cabeza's Therapy (www.cabezastherapy.com). Feel more than free to contact via phone at (347) 766-8878 and/or by email at [email protected].
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My work is driven by helping others (especially those with intersectional identities) and trying to understand their journeys. As a future counselor, I respect and value the simultaneous identities clients hold. My professional experience entails working with all people on the identity spectrum as it relates to helping them reach their maximum health. This experience includes working within New York City (NYC) to provide individuals with HIV/STI counseling and testing, services, health education, support, and case management. Having the opportunity to have worked at places like Boom Health, The Institute for Family Health, The LGBT Network, Latino Commission on AIDS (LCOA), and AIDS Center of Queens County (ACQC), has exposed me to working with many marginalized populations in underserved communities within NYC. I believe that everyone should have access to mental health care and I personally plan to continue my advocacy for that through my work.
