About My Clients

I do my best work with folks at the intersection of queer and neurodivergent. I utilize lived experience as a late-diagnosed AuDHDer, and have had success working with self-diagnosed, formally diagnosed and/or late diagnosed Autistic people. I enjoy helping clients unpack and grow through their family of origin issues, those who have experienced oppression and trauma, and people who are deconstructing their faith or healing from abuse. I am gender affirming.

My Background and Approach

I graduated with my master's from Midwestern State in 2020. I also have a bachelors in Sociology and a certificate in Substance Abuse Studies. I'm a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) and a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). I'm a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, a neurodivergent person, and live my life in a larger (fat) body. I've been on my own mental health journey for many years and will likely utilize my own therapist and supervision for the duration of my career - thus far I have found it to be an amazing way to grow in my personal and professional life. I have experience with mandated substance use probation and CPS clients, parenting counseling, queer teens and young adults, religious trauma, disability, and mood disorders. I am passionate about working with Autistic, Trans, and Queer youth and adults. I'm a soft place to land when shit is tough. Self compassion is the center of my work. I can't wait to meet you!

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that finding compassion for oneself and developing acceptance for one's humanity are key practices for developing a balanced life. Through my own therapy, I learned the hold shame and perfectionism had on my life and I was able to expose my darkest parts in a safe place. I also learned to accept life's dualities. My personal therapy experience was life-altering and it is a joy and a privilege to offer that to others. I am a proud bisexual woman and continually strive to grow in my practice of anti-racism, social justice and advocacy. If you are looking for a counselor who is open, gentle, and utilizes humor and joy, it sounds like we could be a good fit! Call and ask to set up an initial appointment with me.
