About My Clients
I specialize in everyday people. People struggling to manage emotions and behaviors for various reasons (trauma, anxiety, addiction, marital conflicts, parenting and life situations). Individuals who feel comfortable in a safe virtual environment while receiving quality service with dignity and respect. The people I serve prefer not to go to large mental health institutions to be pumped in and out like an object on a thread mill. My motto is "Bring Quality Back to Care".
My Background and Approach
I started in the social work almost 20 years ago working with people who have experience some form of trauma. My background has been a blend of working children who have experience child abuse, substance abuse, domestic violence and human trafficking. Based on the individual's need I utilize a solution-focus, cognitive-behavioral, spiritual infused approach. The lens I use are a combination of developmental, trauma/loss and family systems. My approach is geared individually to each person and their goals for wellness. Wellness not illness, is another one of my mottos. My goal is to assist individuals to achieve a level of wellness that is meaningful for them.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe mind, body and spirit are connected. You can't address one without touching on the others. Monitoring what we eat and drink can affect our mood, emotions and thinking. How we sleep is critical. The spirit is where our hope lies, so keeping the spirit filled is critical. Nature, exercise, meditation, pray are just a few options to lift the spirit. Meaningful discussions about mind, body and spirt are important to a person's ability to reach their goals.
