About My Clients
The clients who I feel I best serve are those who not only believe in God but genuinely desire to follow His plan for their lives. I can help anyone with this worldview learn valuable perspectives and skills that will help them develop and maintain a clear career concept that will keep them on their best path. I can also help those who are struggling to overcome issues that are preventing them from being available to God's purposes for them i.e. depression, anxiety, relational struggles, etc.
My Background and Approach
After graduating with my Master's in Biblical Counseling from Dallas Theological Seminary, and getting my LPC license in 2013, I immediately started developing my holistic career theory and method for believers wanting to follow God's plan for their lives. Now, after 10+ years of Biblical and empirical research, I have written the book on it (literally) and started my private practice to help people find their purposes. Along the way, I have also been able to serve as a general counselor for many people, using Biblically guided Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. God's Word says that we need to be transformed by the renewing of our minds, and I think that CBT fits this bill perfectly. We reject the lies we believe and embrace God's truth to be set free toward a better life.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
The personal belief I am most shaped by is my belief that there really is one true loving God in charge of our whole existence, and it is only through Jesus that we are able to know Him and have a relationship with Him. I cannot hide this as a counselor because it is how I believe we find our paths to health and wellness. God accepts and loves all of us just as we are AND, if we let Him, He helps us grow to be a better version of ourselves every day. None of us are without this need to follow His ways better. We all need His truth, and the love and support of the community around us to live by it. I also have a degree in Psychology and a love of science. I love seeing how our brain works and understanding how our social and emotional systems operate individually and within our communal systems. The scientific method and a belief in God are not oppositional. Having a good understanding of both is incredibly illuminating for how to pursue health.
