My Background and Approach
Using an integrative, holistic, approach I will help you in create change in your life. This means I begin where you are and tailor the treatment approach to your needs while being sensitive to how your individual cultural identities and lifestyle choices impact your experience. I primarily practice an integrative approach to include cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness, and solution-focused counseling. I will partner with you to provide accountability for you to grow emotionally, relationally, and spiritually. I can teach you skills to manage emotions effectively, challenge faulty thinking patterns, and to reconnect you with your core values ,and with people important to you. I am compassionate, supportive, nonjudgmental, honest, and direct. My belief is that therapy works best in the context of a safe, nurturing and supportive environment. Together we can restore the joy in your life, and greatly improve the quality of your life.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that everyone can create change and grow through out life. What we bring forward in life generally originates in things that happen along the way such as family of origin or past traumatic experiences. I also believe that when you are determined and ready to approach the shadows in your life you can become aware of how these shadows are impacting the quality of your life. Awareness is the true key to making change occur , which I also believe involves the mind and the body. Overall wellness includes nutrition, self care, and a willingness to approach the shadows with the guidance of a therapist or coach to support and guide you. A strong therapeutic alliance allows for a safe space to bring the shadows to the light. I take a non- judgmental stance and believe in transparency and honesty. My beliefs include a position of non - discrimination and in advocating for diversity. I am extremely passionate and dedicated to my clients and will go above and beyond for you.
