About My Clients
I particularly enjoy working with people who are navigating difficult interpersonal relationships (with family members, partners, spouses, etc.) or are in the midst of healing from heartbreak, grief or loss. I also have extensive personal and professional experience with chronic pain/illness and have deep regard for the experiencers and caregivers dealing with the challenges that accompany. I also love working with clients who are looking to decrease symptoms of anxiety or panic.
My Background and Approach
My background and training is based in Psychodynamic , Cogntive Behavioral (CBT) and Humanistic therapy. This looks like us exploring your past and present at a deeper level, taking into account your family and relationship history and seeing ways those early experiences impact your current life. I utilize CBT by helping you look at patterns, habits or thought processes that aren't working well for you. I teach coping skills and work with you to find ways of approaching life's challenges that feel manageable and personal. Lastly, I always come from a person centered lens in that I believe the foundation of therapy is feeling a true connection, rapport, and safety with your therapist.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I have a foundational belief in treating individuals with compassion and kindness. I offer a warm, transparent and at times humorous presence. I am a calm, yet active therapist and explore your feelings with curiosity and respect. I listen closely to your words and stories and help guide you with questions and insight to facilitate clarity and change.
