About My Clients
I work with adults and teens (ages 13+) to address neurodivergence and late diagnoses, trauma and dissociation, domestic abuse, relationship issues, single parenthood, parenting concerns, women's issues, and life transitions and stressors.
My Background and Approach
I work from a person-centered, affirming, & compassionate lens with the goal of providing a safe space for you to show up as your authentic self. The root of that is to provide you with a space that's just for you; where you can reflect, dig deep, laugh, cry, swear, and truly take the time to get to know yourself and give yourself permission to be first. I have a background in the mental health and social services field with over a decade of experience. I have a MA in Forensic Psychology, and a MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I put myself through college while being a single mother and working full-time. I have lived experience with trauma and can relate to those who have previously, or are experiencing, domestic abuse. I am also a neurodivergent identifying therapist raising a neurodivergent child. *I am currently completing Anchored Relational Therapy training (formerly AIR Network).
Why I Became a Therapist
I have always felt like my calling was to show up for others. Not in the capacity of a people pleaser or as the person that's always going to do or say the right thing, but just as the person that will consistently show up and remind others of the benefits of human connection. I'll validate emotions. I'll listen and hear you. I'll (maybe) make you laugh. I'll challenge you and support your goals and have moments where I'm proud of you. I became a therapist because I wanted to create a different narrative surrounding mental health and the stigma that's attached with seeing a therapist. Ultimately, I wanted to reframe what being in therapy is and also, what being a therapist means.
