About My Clients
My passion is working with folks who are struggling with: Compulsory Heterosexuality, Asexuality/Aromanticism, Navigating Polyamory/CNM/Open Relationships, and Doomerism/Nihilism/Climate Anxiety.
My Background and Approach
I grew up in the KC metro and attained my master’s degree in counseling psychology in from Avila University. I have been practicing since 2016 and draw from a variety of approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, EMDR, and Mindfulness. I believe that each person is unique with unique strengths and unique problems. My practice is person-centered and treatment is tailored to each individual.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I have a passion for social justice and am a big fan of diversity, equity, and inclusion. I believe in the dismantling of the patriarchy, white supremacy, and capitalism. Black lives matter, Trans rights are human rights, and abortion is healthcare. The world will be a better place when we can all live our true, authentic lives with joy and fulfillment. I also believe income should not be a barrier to therapy and am currently accepting sliding-scale fee clients through Open Path (https://openpathcollective.org/clinicians/rachel-jaggard/).
