My Background and Approach
Aaron’s approach to therapy is eclectic and draws from a variety of techniques including traditional psychodynamic principles and evidence-based practices that include Cognitive-Behavioral, Acceptance-Based, and Mindfulness principles. His approach is active, dynamic, and interactive rooted in trust, empathy, and acceptance within the therapeutic relationship. Aaron works collaboratively with clients to explore issues, establish goals, and build upon existing strengths to cultivate growth. Aaron’s experience consists of working in outpatient and hospital-based settings with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, addiction, trauma/PTSD, learning/attention issues, schizophrenia, and bipolar disorder. Aaron specializes in integrating expressive arts (i.e. music, rhythm, visual arts) to help cultivate therapeutic growth. In addition to clinical work, Aaron is involved in research, and is currently earning his PhD at New York University’s Silver School of Social Work.
