About My Clients
Many of my clients have experienced previous life experiences that were difficult and still cause problems in their everyday life. The clients I work with may seek to work through those experiences to reduce their symptoms or even make sense of those moments. Many of the children I work with are struggling with behaviors that are hard for adults to understand and parents who just want to help their children feel better.
My Background and Approach
In my 10 years as a Mental Health Therapist I have worked with a variety of issues including: anxiety, depression, trauma, abuse, self-harm, shame, family conflict, and parenting issues. I work with children ages 5-18 and adults of all ages. I am a Registered Play Therapist and have training in Sand Tray Therapy. I use these approaches to help children work through painful experiences using their primary language: Play! I am certified in EMDR using this for both children and adults to process past traumatic experiences and decrease the responses to the reminders of these negative experiences. As a board approved supervisor, I offer supervision for licensure. I am also an EMDRIA approved Consultant and Facilitator for the Ana Gomez Attachment Trauma Education Institute for Basic EMDR and Sandtray EMDR Intensives.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe strongly that most people are doing the best they can with what they have at any given time. As your therapist my goal is to provide a safe, non-judgmental space for you to process. I value client autonomy, you are the expert on yourself and I am here to walk alongside you in the process.
