About My Clients

I work with the LGBTQIA+, BIPOC, and allied individuals who struggle with anxiety, OCD, trauma, and bicultural issues. Do you worry about being good enough or if there is something wrong with you? Do you have thoughts that don’t align with who you are? Well, I’ve got you. My goal is to support you in gaining skills and knowledge to better understand yourself, to process through whatever might have led to these negative self beliefs or actions, and to manage whatever stress you have in life.

My Background and Approach

As a queer lesbian, child of immigrants, and person with lived experience with OCD, I know the importance of working towards accepting yourself and learning how to hold yourself with care and love. I value working in a collaborative, affirming, and mutually respectful way. One of my goals is to make sure that you have the coping skills that work for your life and brain in order to feel capable of handling whatever stress comes your way. Some of the skills I teach include communication skills, somatic body based skills, visualizations, breath techniques, and physiological response techniques to help you reduce your anxiety. In my practice I primarily use EMDR, I-CBT for OCD, ACT, and DBT. I regularly attend trainings and peer supervision meetings to grow and fine tune my skills around EMDR and I-CBT. My overarching goal is to improve your quality of life and to help you build up the core belief that you are enough.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe in honoring the complexity of the human experience including both the parts that feel easier and the parts that feel harder to look at. I also believe that knowledge is power and that through therapy you can learn skills, process through past events, and better understand yourself so that you can have a life where you feel more empowered. I believe that therapy is not a one size fits all experience and that it is important to find a person you can build trust with and I strive to build that trust with you and will honor your decisions within our therapeutic relationship. I am an intersectional feminist and I believe in the necessity to hold space for and to look at all your identities in order to understand the context from which you are living your life. I consider myself a therapy nerd and am passionate about learning and sharing what I know about therapy with others.
