About My Clients
Envision the interior of a nautilus shell or the exterior of a conch shell or a spiral stair case. Throughout history and across cultures, the spiral has represented the unfolding nature of life, ongoing change, and evolution. I believe that this symbol reflects the process of therapy.
My Background and Approach
Many people enter therapy for ongoing support, to get unstuck in areas of their lives where they feel stuck, to address conflict in relationships, or to work through the ways in which they have been impacted by past experiences. Sometimes people come to therapy to address an issue in their lives that they thought they had already resolved only to discover that a transitional moment brings new awareness that there is more work to be done, a new opportunity for growth and expansion. People enter therapy from wherever they are in their life journey, and together we clarify and identify where they are striving to get to, and we work to get there. The work to get there includes examining your personal history, relationships, and the larger social context in which you live. We build upon your prior efforts to build the life you desire, and through our collaboration we will discover new pathways, understandings, and practices that move you toward living the life you desire.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My approach to therapy is rooted in family systems & narrative therapies, attachment theory, cultural humility, social justice, racial sensitivity and LGBTQIA2S+ affirming practices. I believe in naming and addressing the ways in which systems of oppression harm our well being and how membership in marginalized and minoritized communities are sources of strength and resilience.
