About My Clients
I specialize in working with women, providing a safe, neutral, confidential place to share about you. “Every voice deserves a chance to be heard and every story a chance to be told.” —Stacy L. Smith (I am a therapist and storycatcher) I believe one of the bravest things you can do is begin to understand your story, include the losses, traumas, stressors, transitions and changes, that you've had to survive. I believe in the healing power of your life story.
My Background and Approach
Keeping your stories hidden and buried can deprive us of growth and leave us feeling lonely and misunderstood. I am here to be on that leg of your journey where you decide it's time for change and to begin the healing process. “Sharing our truths can provide the opportunity for great healing.” — Kristen Noel I have a Masters degree (counseling psychology) and a bachelors degree (sociology). I have 10 years of experience in the mental health field. I have done residential, private practice, crisis, and community mental health counseling. In my practice, I strive to honor diversity, and to whenever possible encourage, support, and stand up for those who face barriers and encourage a resistance mentality to any and all oppression and the myriad ways that create inequality between people. I also specialize in working with writers of non-fiction journals and memoir writing and those who want to preserve their life stories and experiences and what they have learned in life.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
We are taught to make sacrifices, but how can we take care of others if we are not taking care of ourselves? “You’re not a victim for sharing your story. You are a survivor setting the world on fire with your truth. And you never know who needs your light, your warmth and raging courage.” — Alex Elle (Contact me for a free consultation).
