About My Clients
I work with people who are interested in deepening their relationship with their inner life, who want a greater capacity to understand how they feel and what they want. My work is to help you learn how to listen to yourself more deeply. Together we can discover and work through the obstacles that block you from engaging authentically with your life and loved ones. I often work with people who are introspective and interested in self growth, but find it hard to express themselves to others.
My Background and Approach
My focus as a therapist is to cultivate a space that is collaborative and safe, so you can listen deeply to your body and emotions, and take risks in support of your healing. A combination of somatic and traditional approaches to therapy allows for insight to become embodied, which leads to lasting transformation. Sometimes healing requires resolving old experiences that are affecting you today – you may feel internal conflict, frustrating relationship patterns, or blocks to moving forward. I specialize in working with relational patterns, insecurity, self-doubt and personal growth. I work with people who are ready to take up more space in their life and learn how to connect more deeply with themselves and others. I bring a variety of tools to my practice and continue ongoing training in somatic, psychodynamic, and Jungian approaches. I also study climate psychology to address anxiety and trauma around the climate crisis.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Everyone deserves to feel they can be themselves in the world, to feel worthy and valuable, and to have a good life. This means knowing ourselves so we can move toward what we want. It means being able to set boundaries without lasting guilt, so we can have authentic connections with those we love. What kind of life and work feels nourishing? What will make you content? What is not working in your life anymore? These are all questions you can explore in the safe, respectful space that therapy offers. I believe you have important wisdom within you and an innate capacity to heal. I am an active, grounded and intuitive guide in the process. My hope is that you will take tools from therapy that will last a lifetime. In my spare time I like to hike and spend time in the wilderness, do lots of mindful-based movement practices, and enjoy the therapeutic benefits of knitting. A meditation practice of over 20 years helps keep me centered.
