About My Clients
I work mostly with queer, gender expansive, and other LGBTQIA+ folks who are struggling with anxiety and trauma. I help people better understand their emotional and physical responses to anxiety, explore and heal wounds, and find ways to better connect with their personal values and well being. People I work with understand that change rarely happens overnight, and also understand why doing the work is worthwhile in order to connect with and create more fulfilling and meaningful lives.
My Background and Approach
You might be feeling like you can never just relax or there's too much internal and external 'noise'. Or you might be having a hard time facing things that feel difficult, causing them to build up and you to shut down. The amount of anxiety you feel on a given day might feel overwhelming and disconnecting. I'm here to help you see that you're not alone and find ways to respond to your anxiety so you can feel connected to your life again. Regardless of the source of your anxiety, whether it's connected to identity, work, relationships, difficult life transitions, or past traumas, I approach mental health concerns in a holistic way. My goal is to help you understand how the many aspects of your life and the world around you might be impacting your mental and emotional well being. Together we can then determine personal changes, skills, and healing that will allow you to find a sense of grounding in order to more consciously connect with what’s important to you.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a queer, non-binary, white therapist. I believe that every individual already possesses knowledge and truths that, when accessed, allow them to connect to a sense of inner confidence, grounding, and joy in their lives, even in the midst of difficulties. I use a blend of therapeutic approaches to best meet your needs in an accessible way. Clients might best describe me as warm, genuine, and open minded. I am a human who often explains things in unconventional ways. And I do my best to make sure we find common language and understanding to help you achieve your goals. I know that starting therapy can be both overwhelming and an incredibly important step toward healing. I am here to help you make sense of your anxiety so you can begin to heal and make desired changes in your life.
