About My Clients
I work well with clients experiencing depression, anxiety, grief, panic, burnout, self-doubt, and PTSD. I also love working with adolescent boys and young men, LGBTQIA+ clients, neurodivergent adults, and grad student/early-career therapists.
My Background and Approach
I approach each client with humility, curiosity, respect, and humor--I'm most interested in creating a nurturing environment that allows you trust your innate wisdom. I welcome all of your humanness (laughter, tears, messiness, apprehension, and swears) as we discover what is most true to you and dispose of the stories about yourself that no longer serve you. I'm sure as heck not perfect, so I don't expect you to be either! I commonly draw from Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, EMDR, Narrative Therapy, Schema Therapy, and DBT in my work, but I am adaptable and most concerned with what works best for you. I have experience with crisis response, suicide prevention, and survivors of IPV.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that therapy can be challenging, and I acknowledge the risk you're taking to pursue it. I also believe that therapy can be empowering, affirming, and even fun. I want to ensure that you feel a sense of agency in your therapeutic experience, and I eagerly welcome conversations about power, privilege, identity, and ruptures in our sessions. Beyond being a therapist, I'm a writer, skier, gardener, shower singer, dog dad, and perfectly average pizza chef. I'm engaged in anti-racist action and facilitation as well as food justice work.
