Big life changes often lead us to feel (at least somewhat) ungrounded and lost. Transitions like becoming a new parent, losing a loved one, a divorce, a promotion at work, a big move, may leave us questioning our sense of purpose and bring with that a lot of suffering and unease. I have helped many clients like you successfully navigate transformations like these. You do not have to go through that pain on your own.

Do you have difficulty being vulnerable in your relationships? Do you find yourself unable to reach the level of closeness or emotional depth you desire? I would love to help. I deeply enjoy helping people connect with others in their lives in ways they never thought possible. This usually entails giving yourself a chance to explore what has been getting in the way, which often means taking a compassionate look at the first relationships you developed in your life.

Being an immigrant woman, I know firsthand how difficult it can be to leave a whole world behind and find yourself navigating constant newness. I also know how key it can be to have a safe, compassionate space while undergoing that process in order to feel grounded and to successfully handle the transition to your new life. I have worked for many years with recent immigrants processing the exhilaration and at the same time the grief that often comes with the journey.

I believe that experiencing both joy and pain is what makes us human. My goal when sitting with you is not to "fix" you or to change the ways in which you show up as a human, but to embrace what makes you, "you". Themes like choice, freedom, purpose often come up in my sessions; I am interested in helping you figure out whether what you are doing is truly what you want to do with your life.

I keep a close eye on what role the environments you have inhabited may have played on your current views about yourself, others, and the world at large, and I constantly invite you to do the same. It can be very empowering to realize how you came to embrace your beliefs, and with that information, be able to decide which of them you want to keep or reject.

I am a big supporter of women, and I firmly believe in the power of helping them connect with themselves and their voices and making themselves heard. I am trained in women's issues and feminist psychotherapy, and am passionate about walking with women through the journey of dismantling patriarchy and questioning beliefs that continue to make us feel we need to conform with the status quo and stay quiet.

I have a passion for treating people who struggle quieting that inner voice who is always telling them they could be doing more, or better --that voice that has a difficult time being kind and compassionate and appreciating the little successes. Together, we can be curious about what is getting in the way of your enjoyment of the present. I can also teach you exercises that can help calm your system down so that the world can feel safe again.
