About My Clients
Have you ever had a piece of clothing get caught on a handle of any kind and you all of a sudden turn into the hulk trying to rip the door off? We've all been there! If you are in a constant state of feeling overwhelmed, anxious and depleted; like one more thing could make you explode, you've found the right place. Clients leave my office feeling empowered in their ability to self regulate, conquer their anxieties and effectively communicate their feelings and needs.
My Background and Approach
My approach to therapy is based on building a strong, trusting therapeutic relationship. I strive to find the balance between warmth, compassion and being honest and direct. It is my goal to provide a safe place for you to be introspective and build skills to further help you thrive. My credentials that have helped me get to this place, are a B.S. in Psychology & Family/Child Sciences from FSU and a M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from GSU. I have specialized training in treating trauma, suicidal ideation and anxiety disorders.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe your relationship with your therapist is one of the most vulnerable and emotionally intimate relationships someone can have. With this belief, creating safety in our space is my top priority, along with always making sure my clients feel seen, understood and heard. There is nothing worse than starting with a therapist and leaving having that feeling of "I am just that messed up or broken? Ugh, another person who doesn't understand?". I know that I will not be the right fit for every client, but I know it is my goal in every session to make sure the person leaving feels more understood and seen than before they came in.
