About My Clients
As a Queer clinician, I am particularly interested in Queer flourishing, providing gender-affirming care and related identity concerns, though obviously I also work with people who are not queer-identified. It is a common human experience to feel "Othered." My background makes it easy to identify with anyone's experience of feeling like an outsider, however, that shows up for you.
My Background and Approach
I primarily work from a psychodynamic perspective. I believe that our core struggles are organized by unconscious conflicts. Our goal is to become aware of these internal dynamics and through this awareness to be liberated to alter them. Our earliest experiences and the cultures we inhabit fundamentally shape how we show up in relationships, how we think, and what we believe is possible for ourselves. It is deeply meaningful to me to be entrusted with supporting you through your personal struggles and guiding you toward solutions that are uniquely yours. I have experience with those struggling with depression, anxiety, grief/loss, crisis in self-esteem, and attachment wounds. In a world that is growing increasingly uncertain, I aim to provide a space outside of the noise where your concerns are treated with attention, respect and care.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I value authenticity, emotional honesty, mutual respect, and compassion. I strive to provide a space where these deeply human qualities can be experienced and internalized. I am a politically engaged member of my community. Before becoming a psychotherapist, I worked in community mental health, supporting individuals with diverse backgrounds and complex needs, as well as the developmentally disabled community—experiences that shaped my values and approach to therapy.
