About My Clients
As a multicultural therapist, I value your unique cultural identity and honor your lived experiences. Racial trauma is real, and it needs to be talked about in a safe space. I am here to be a witness to the parts of you that need to be seen, and help you heal those parts that need nurturing, and understanding. I use mindfulness practices to calm the nervous system and can teach you healthy coping skills to help you create a life worthy of living.
My Background and Approach
My clients know me as the "mindfulness queen." My goal is to share with you at least one healthy coping skill per session so that you can use throughout the day and week. Life right now can feel hard and overwhelming at times, but I am here to share with you evidence-based life hacks that can quickly create relief. My expertise is in trauma-informed care, and I have expanded those skills to include a cultural lens that takes into account your unique, and diverse identities. For the past eight years, my practice was focused on helping people grow their self-esteem. I attended trainings, earned my Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from Chatham University in PA, and continued to seek leading edge techniques that brought the best care for my clients. And the number one thing I learned in all of my education is that YOU are the expert of your life. My goal is to work with you as a team to forge a pathway towards joy and healing.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in healing, nurturing, and loving into existence our heart’s desires. In today's world of instant gratification, social media platforms that create a cycle of seeking validation and engagement, and constant hypervigilance of how others perceive us, it may seem almost radical to quiet the chatter, look within and to explore our innermost thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Counseling is about putting the focus on your life in a way that’s intimate, personal, kind, and caring. It is about creating a safe environment between you and your therapist to do deep, transformative, sacred work. Whether you are an immigrant wounded by racial systemic trauma or someone who grew up in a rural community hurt by an abusive and violent upbringing, the emotional pain of trauma is all the same – an oppressive trapping that can lead to depression, anxiety, lack of self-esteem, false sense of self, and so much more. Together we can make a way forward.
