About My Clients
Many of my clients struggle with anxiety and trauma and are open to approaches like CBT, DBT, and mindfulness. I am also interested in working with clients who are dealing with gut health issues exacerbated by stress, trauma, and anxiety. I am happy to work with spiritual and religious minorities and people from any spiritual background (agnostics and atheists are welcome too). I also love working with LGBTQ clients by providing a safe space to affirm and explore related issues.
My Background and Approach
There is so much healing and medicine in simply being able to speak the truth - especially if it has never been spoken out loud before - in a completely safe space. This is where I believe the magic lies in talk therapy. It is my honor to be a supportive listener and witness to shared truths and respond with empathy and acknowledgment. We will work together as a team in alignment with therapeutic goals for growth and healing. While there is immense relief, catharsis, and growth from simply talking about a problem, this is sometimes not enough. Being a scientist's daughter, it has been really important to study and offer evidence-based approaches like CBT, DBT, and exposure response prevention, to name a few. If there is research to show that an approach can be reliably helpful to most people struggling with a particular issue, I am all for providing that approach!
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe healing is possible. All spiritual paths lead to the same place and in the power of synchronicity and timing (kairos). I value compassion, empathy, spirituality, creativity, and spending time in nature. To give back, I have volunteered with PCOM's Healthy Monks program, supporting the health of Laotian monks in South Philadelphia. I also volunteer with community events like Society Hill's home and garden show, organize donation drives for local animal shelters, and help provide food for homeless people. I believe in evidence-based practices, but also recognize the power that lies within the unproven (spiritual experiences, connecting with nature, etc.). By offering my clients a safe, open space to freely explore their true selves, they will find a path of self-acceptance, self-love, and personal improvement.
