About My Clients
My work focuses on identifying deeply rooted issues that reinforce low self esteem, negative communication patterns and feelings of disconnection, and developing solutions to enhance connection, trust and resilience. I enjoy working with those who are navigating emotional distancing or insecure attachment, contemplating leaving a toxic relationship or job, new parents and those in caregiver roles, and helping people pleasers learn to say no.
My Background and Approach
My educational background includes a Bachelor of Education in Family and Human Services and a Master of Science in Couples and Family Therapy from the University of Oregon. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and aLicensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Oregon. I have experience working with individuals aged 5-70, couples, and families. I have completed the necessary training to supervise pre-licensed individuals in Oregon and enjoy helping others find their sense of self as a therapist. As a lifelong learner, I value integrating therapeutic modalities to meet the needs of my clients best. My primary treatment modalities include IFS (Internal Family Systems), EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy), CBT (Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy), and Solution-Focused Therapy.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am LGTBTQ allied and am passionate about social justice. I am a mom to a young toddler, so you may see me chasing around a tiny human at various parks within Portland. When not in session with clients, I enjoy spending time with my husband, daughter and our two cats and two dogs. Fun fact about me: While in graduate school, I taught Barre3 for two years and found that it exponentially helped me be a better therapist by knowing when and how to slow my mind and body down, differentiate between discomfort and pain, and lean into the areas that present challenge in life.
