About My Clients
I help clients who are dealing with many different issues, including anxiety, family-of-origin issues, couples/relationship issues, & depression. I specialize in alternative lifestyles. My passion is helping clients from any or all of the following groups: geeky, LGBTQIA+, BDSM/kinky, polyamorous/non-monogamous, alternative spiritualities and/or atheists. If you’re searching for an effective and caring therapist who can understand your unique situation, you’ve come to the right person.
My Background and Approach
During my time in private practice, I have learned that everyone has their own way of learning, and each client brings in a wealth of perspectives and experience. I love bringing in a variety of tools and tips, and ask my clients to give me feedback on what works for them, and especially on what doesn't. I see my role as a deep listener and a guide; someone who can comprehend your issues, find the patterns showing up in your life and relationships, and assist you in uncovering the answers you need to grow and change. You know the story of your life, and by sharing that narrative with me, I can help you see it with new eyes, and find the spaces for change that you didn't realize were there. Therapy is a collaborative effort, and I applaud your courage for stepping into this space, for being willing to risk change, and engage in the effort to grow beyond what you previously imagined to be your limits.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I know that being geeky, kinky, queer, polyamorous, pagan, or atheist (any or all of the above) is living life on a higher challenge-rating. The trade-off is the joy of being able to be our more authentic selves, and to discover things about our selves and our relationships that most people can't even imagine. I want to help you live your most authentic and fulfilling life possible. Every client honors me by sharing with me a part of their life story. Every client is brave by being willing to step into the challenge of engaging in therapy, and facing that challenge through our work together. If you have a story about how a therapist latched onto one part of your life as being THE problem, rather than looking at and exploring the issues of your life as a whole, then I'm the kind of therapist who can help you.
