About My Clients
As a therapist it is my goal to give you the space, time, and support to overcome the struggles you may be facing. I work hard to help you find your own empowerment to work through the difficulties that life throws your way. I am gentle, yet direct when needed, in therapy. My ideal populations include: anxiety/depression, postpartum moms and dads, infertility, grief/loss, LGBTQPIA+, trans affirming therapy, poly/kink,blended families, couples work, body image/self esteem, self harm/suicidality.
My Background and Approach
I am licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of MN. I have been specifically trained in DBT therapy, sand tray therapy, DaRE attachment training, and Maternal Mental Health. I I have worked in the mental health field in one way or another since I was 18 years old while attending UMD for Psychology and Criminology, starting with group home and PCA work. I helped open up and run group homes while going to school for my Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy at Argosy University. Internship and hired on at Family Life Center where I was heavily involved in the DBT program (adolescent, cognitive disability, and adult groups). I have slowly worked into the private practice world and really learned who I love to work with. I am in love with what I do for work and the real relationships I build with my clients. I show up authentically with my client in session, self disclosing as needed. I believe in doing so, the relationship we have can help heal different wounds.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that everyone is free to have their beliefs. I am an advocate (and member of) LGBTQPIA+ community, work hard to be trans affirming, BIPOC affirming, and strong supporter/advocate for woman and men. I do my very best to educated myself and continue to do my own inner work on my impact and ways I can better myself and the people around me. I am open to hearing if I screw up , or use improper language. I will take that and forcibly change and learn from it. I support equity/equality and fighting for your rights. I stand up for what I believe in and have no issues with doing so in uncomfortable situations.
