About My Clients

Have you been trying to control your drug or alcohol use but find yourself stuck in a cycle of repeated failures? Do you feel exhausted and overwhelmed by your addiction? It may seem impossible at times, and we get it—change is incredibly difficult. Therapy can help you gain insight into the patterns keeping you in this rut and provide the clarity you need to move forward. Together, we’ll explore strategies to help you reclaim control with compassion and understanding.

My Background and Approach

As therapists, we view our relationship as collaborative, with us serving as guides rather than leaders. Together, we explore what lies beneath the surface, empowering you to make informed choices. Our goal is to help you recognize your own inner strength and wisdom while offering consistent, reliable support. We provide a compassionate, safe space to help you navigate life’s challenges with greater clarity, confidence, and self-trust. Ou approach to addiction therapy focuses on radical compassion, helping clients and their loved ones understand its root causes and impact. Through a collaborative therapeutic alliance, we work to identify patterns and foster personal growth. We encourage family involvement to build a strong support network, essential for sustainable recovery and change.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

We believe in respecting the dignity and autonomy of people who use drugs. We support harm reduction and organizations focused on pragmatic drug education to prevent addiction. Our practice is inclusive and welcoming to all genders, ethnicities, and sexual orientations, as we strive to make mental health services accessible for everyone. As white Latina (Jennifer) and mixed-race (Lisa) therapists, we are committed to learning and navigating the complexities of being bicultural. We are sex- and kink-friendly, politically progressive, and deeply value freedom of expression. When she's not working, you might find Jennifer dancing with strangers in dark rooms or immersed in the works of Octavia Butler and N.K. Jemisin. Outside of work, Lisa enjoys reading mystery thrillers and conducting research on the needs of women affected by the carceral system. We are also proud partners and parents.
