About My Clients
I work with any client who needs help and wishes to improve their mental health. I believe every human being should have equal access to mental health services , which is why I have worked in a wide variety of settings including college counseling centers, community treatment facilities, hospitals, jails; forensic psychiatric centers; and centers serving U.S military personnel and other first responders.
My Background and Approach
I believe in providing clients with evidence-based treatments to address a widespread range of illnesses including anxiety, depression, and trauma. I also help clients deal with relationship issues; family troubles; career related problems; and conflicts related to issues of race, gender, and sexual orientation. Clients can always expect a warm, empathetic, and validating environment where they are given the space they deserve to express themselves without judgement. Moreover, they can expect symptom alleviation and the development of good coping skills that will serve them for a lifetime as they continue to tackle life's challenges and strive for continued growth.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe the key to successful treatment is through proper evaluation and diagnosis. Whether you are starting treatment for the first time, or if you feel like you have been misdiagnosed, I can help you gain a better understanding of your mental health and help answer your questions about your experiences and struggles. I also believe that therapy should not only provide symptom alleviation but also assist clients in working towards self-development, racial/gender/sexual identity affirmation, and self-acceptance.
