About My Clients
When we feel most overwhelmed and stressed, we often find it difficult to prioritize what we value most. Our interests, our commitments, and the relationships most important to us often suffer when we are suffering and struggling to show up. Therapy can offer us a space to reconnect with ourselves, and find a sense of peace and calm, allowing us to move closer to the people and areas of our lives we want. Therapy can help us enjoy life again the way we once used to.
My Background and Approach
I believe that the client is the expert on their life and it is not my job to tell to tell them what to do. I believe that therapy works best when I collaborate with the client in identifying their emotions, thoughts, and barriers to what may be getting in their way. I strive to create a curious, compassionate therapeutic space for clients to examine the interworking of their lives and learn skills to navigate a range of emotions and experiences.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a therapist because I believe all people deserve to have the life that is most meaningful to them, free from the weight of suffering. Life comes with all kinds of suffering and pain, it's unavoidable, and sometimes this suffering is hard to move through. I believe that our suffering is not our fault and our struggles with our mental health are often learned behaviors to keep us safe. Therapy is an opportunity for us to get curious about our own lives, and take responsibility for our mental health in order to live the life we want to live.
