About My Clients
I am passionate about working with young adults, adolescents, and parents/families of adolescents through the complexities of life, relationships, and identity exploration. If you are experiencing depression, anxiety, the impact of trauma, a life transition, interpersonal challenges, difficulty functioning in a world designed for neurotypicality, substance use issues, and/or low self-esteem, I am here for you.
My Background and Approach
My approach to therapy can be described as empathetic, warm, non-judgmental, and attuned to the individual or family I am working with. I aim to be that someone in your corner who can help you sift through the choices, complexities, and challenges that you are facing, as well as celebrate your strengths and accomplishments. I have a particular knack for working with folks in accessing self-reflection skills and finding ways of communication that are assertive, clear, and regulated to better understand and empathize with themselves and one another. The modalities I am trained in and most often utilize are; Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy (EMDR), Acceptance and Commitment therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior therapy (DBT), Narrative therapy, and Attachment-Based Family therapy (ABFT).
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Being a therapist is an honor and a privilege. In this role, I see myself as your thought-partner, someone who wholly believes in you, and honors the unique story you have to tell. I am originally from the island of Oahu, HI and now live in the beautiful Bay Area, CA. I am an anti-zionist Jew, abolitionist, and member of the LGBTQ+ community. Liberation for ALL people is what guides my experience of being human and is woven into my work with clients. I love to spend my time hiking, swimming, listening to music, reading fantasy/sci-fi, playing cozy video games, and annoying my cats (Kitten Lamar and ScHoolboy Cat).
