About My Clients
I am a strong advocate for social justice reform. Identifying as an immigrant myself, I have a deep empathy, connection and personal understanding of the immigrant experience. I work with a diverse patient population and my passion lies in working with the LGBTQIA+ population, veteran and/or active duty folx, people of colour and immigrants. I am able to practice in 40 "PSYPACT" approved states.
My Approach to Helping
I work with a diverse clientele and specialize in providing social justice oriented psychotherapy to BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, Persons of Color), veteran and/or active duty military folx as well as members of LGBTQIA+ communities. I provide evidence-based and culturally responsive therapy, which focuses on the strengths that you already have. I tend to use an Emotion-Focused (EFT), Interpersonal Process Theoretical approach (IPT) as well as a Cognitive-Behavioral Theoretical approach (CBT) while also paying attention to your environment and access to social support. I believe that it is important to build a strong therapeutic relationship, as well as paying close attention to what is happening for you in-the-moment. I offer a range of services to meet the diverse needs of my clients, including individual therapy, couples therapy, and psychological assessments and consultations. I provide both in person and virtual appointments using my HIPAA compliant telehealth platform.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
In my work, I engage in culture-centered practices, where the role of culture is seen as integral in understanding one’s journey. While relational-cultural narrative therapy guides my work, I also incorporate other evidenced-based practices and cognitive behavioral therapy to address maladaptive patterns and behaviors. I am deeply committed to working with BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, Persons of Color), LGBTQIA+ populations and veteran and/or active duty military folx. I look forward to the opportunity of hearing your story and working with you.
