About My Clients
I provide individual therapy for people 13 and up. I also provide couples therapy for couples 18 and up. It doesn't matter if you're 13 or 99, good mental health and feeling in control of your life is important. My diverse experience and perspective helps me support people of all ages, backgrounds and cultures and ensure they feel seen and heard. I am an ally to all humans, celebrating diversity and supporting you in embracing and celebrating your uniqueness too.
My Background and Approach
My approach to therapy is eclectic, trauma-informed, and person-centered as I truly believe mental health isn’t a one size fits all service. Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy, Reality Therapy, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy provide the foundation for the work we will do together. Other modalities often pop up too as we work together to tailor your services to your needs and learning style. Being a person-centered therapist has allowed me to work with people from all backgrounds, ages, and cultures; most of whom struggle with trauma, self-criticism, relationship challenges, eating disorders, and more. Many of my clients feel like they are ‘too much’ or ‘never enough’ and want to break free from patterns of self-doubt and emotional overwhelm, and I help them build self-awareness and foster self-compassion. We will focus on practical tools and real solutions to help you break down barriers and move forward in life. Your pace and unique needs are at the forefront of treatment.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Growing up in a conservative household didn't allow for independent thinking, self-discovery or self-love. I didn't know mental health issues were actually real until high school! While getting my B.A. in Psychology, so much of my life and my own mental health issues began to make sense. Panic attacks weren't just overreacting and vivid, scary flashbacks weren't just me imagining things. The more I learned, the more I wanted to help other people understand too. I believe that everyone has the ability to dig deep, unlearn harmful thinking and habits and replace them with thinking and habits that make them feel alive. There's something to be said for discovering your happy place in life and that happens by taking care of your mental and emotional health. I’ve learned that better mental health isn’t about fixing yourself; it’s about meeting yourself with understanding and that looks different for everyone. If you would like to know more about me or how I can help, message me. I'm here.
