About My Clients
What if you could live your life with confidence, trust, understanding, and intimacy? If you're having a hard time, feeling disconnected, or having communication problems, I want to help. While my practice specializes in challenges around sex, communication, intimacy, and infidelity, over the years I've also had the privilege of working successfully with people bringing a broad range of other concerns to my office, including anxiety, gender & sexual identity, trauma, and more.
My Background and Approach
My practice is allied with GSRD/LGBTQIA+, kink, poly, sex/sex work, and racial justice communities. Using effective tools and insights, we collaborate with compassion, candor, and humor to help you productively break down challenges, diffuse anger and anxiety, and cultivate the good in your life. I offer a secure, brave space to work with you in the context of your own life. From a neuroscience and Attachment theory approach, with tools borrowed from IFS, CBT, EFT, Existential therapy, and Narrative therapy, we tap into your strengths to empower you to have a more meaningful, satisfying, and authentic connection to your life. Of course, therapy isn't always comfortable. Sometimes, though, the hardest things to work on are the ones most worth the work. YOU are worth the investment.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I'm a Texas-born product of a former marine corps, liberal trans-woman and a conservative, southern school teacher who divorced when I was in grade school. Of course, that is a gross underrepresentation of the full spectrum of both their personhoods, but you get the picture. Just like you, I started out in this world steeped in my own family's culture as well as my community's social norms. As you might imagine, between Mom, Dad, and society, those values and expectations are all over the board, and often clashed. They still do. I tell you this because my origins and life experiences have allowed me to do some solid work to define and live according to my own values. I carry the privilege and related responsibility of a middle aged, cisgender, able-bodied, straight-passing white lady. In addition to being an ally and anti-racist for intersectional social justice, I'm also a mother, a stepmother, a daughter, a sister, a partner, a friend, a gardener, and a cancer survivor.
