About My Clients
For my clients, some aspect of who they are does not align with the expectations of them, bringing up anxiety, depression, and other stressors. Clients bring in issues related to masculinity, communication, relationships, identity, self-esteem, and polyamory. They may also feel limited or overwhelmed by larger issues outside of their control, such as the environment, capitalism, or other oppressive structures. They want to live more confidently but don't know how to do it on their own.
My Background and Approach
I support my clients in understanding their identities, values, and desires and in building the confidence and skills to live a life they are proud of. I help clients see their lives and struggles from a new perspective and heal from any past pain. I bring my ability to ask open ended questions, to listen actively, to find points of connection, and to examine your life through a systemic lens. Together we'll create a space where you can open up and dig deep. This will help you understand the gap between where you are now and where you want to be. We will explore all that is challenging you so you can build the skills to move forward on the path that feels most true and hopeful for you.
My Values as a Therapist
I believe that therapy is about growth. I bring a compassionate, caring, curious, and client-centered attitude to the therapy space in order to support you in better knowing yourself. I believe the systems of the world have a significant impact on our physical and mental health and well-being. I oppose all forms of oppression and am not hesitant to speak about the negative impacts it has on our lives and relationships. As individuals, our race, sex, gender, economic status, sexualities, and other identities interact with our communities and cultures in significant ways. I have significant experience having the challenging conversations about these topics in both individual and group settings. I encourage everyone to explore the ways power and privilege impact their lives.
