About My Clients
The world has a way of teaching us to feel like we aren't good enough, like we're worthless, and like we're alone, but I'm here to help you unlearn. Our goal is to build a set of coping skills that enables you to separate identity from trauma, navigate the world with more self-compassion, and rewire your neural pathways.
My Background and Approach
From my work as a clinical director for a residential treatment center for eating disorders, I believe that coping skills should be practical and accessible in everyday life and built on an understanding of the neuroscience behind emotions and coping as well as holding space for conversations around scary topics a like self-harm, trauma, and suicide. I believe in utilizing an trauma-focused humanistic foundation in eclectic therapy and incorporating evidence-based skills and techniques from different modalities such as feminist therapy, DBT, CBT, CPT, mindfulness, and somatic therapy so life doesn’t have to feel so hard while existing in systems of oppression and power.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I have drawn on a combination of life experience and clinical expertise to create a space curiosity, healing, and unconditional positive regard: the School of Unlearning, Psychotherapy. I believe, fundamentally, that we are all human, and therapy is a place where two people meet together to process some of the most tragic and beautiful moments in our lives in order to heal.
