About My Clients
I help my clients connect with their authenticity so that they can live life more fully. Many wish to express their genuine feelings but feel ashamed or don't know how. Some smile when they're hurt or angry, and they show up for everyone but feel guilty for showing up for themselves. Life goes on, and many don’t feel they are doing what fulfills them, often feeling lonely despite being around many people, being in a relationship, or having successful careers.
My Background and Approach
My name is Juan Carlos Zepeda. I was born and raised in the border town of Tijuana, Mexico. Ten years ago, I moved to Berkeley to study music and ended up discovering my vocation in psychotherapy. I’m deeply interested in our human condition and search for fulfillment, and I feel a genuine desire to be of service and share with others some of the therapeutic resources I continue to gather along my search. I approach therapy from a humanistic perspective, aiming to bridge the mind, heart, and body as the basis for transformation. This approach facilitates the awareness and processing of emotional and traumatic imprints contributing to present issues, creating an opening to nurture loving relationships and understanding.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I share the view that being oneself is curative. For that reason, at the heart of my therapeutic process is reconnecting with parts of yourself that feel disconnected or stuck as a pathway to relieve symptoms, cope with challenging circumstances, and cultivate presence and authenticity.
