About My Clients

I've worked with clients navigate various life challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma and relationship issues. I have extensive experience working clients traversing through personal identity formation, specifically regarding race, ethnicity, faith and spirituality. My experience has demonstrated the value of creating an environment where clients are free to bring the fullness of who they are to their sessions. I prioritize building an authentic, genuine connection with my clients.

My Background and Approach

I utilize various modalities to guide clients towards their goals. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, commonly known as CBT, is a more popular method, as it is highly effective in helping clients identify and examine the through-line between their thoughts, feelings and the way they show up in the world. I also utilize Psychodynamic, Psychoanalytic, Trauma-Informed and Attachment approaches to help clients traverse through life events and circumstances that have greatly impacted them. I take great pleasure in helping couples voyage through conflict and challenges within their relationship, developing and enhancing effective styles of verbal and non-verbal communication within their relationships. I also assist families in analyzing and strengthening interpersonal dynamics and interactions. I work with clients from all walks of life with sensitivity and cultural competence and humility.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

My own life experience as the family member of a loved one harmed by the system launched me into a career of elevating the need for trauma-informed approaches in our communities. Too often, people are judged by what folks see on the news, social media or a third person. Every person, no matter who they are, has a story that has shaped them into who they are today. When we take time to learn there stories, we honor their personhood. I've made a lifelong commitment to elevate the health, safety and wellness of members of the Black, Brown and BIPOC community. I firmly believe that the seeds of healing are planted when we create space to listen to another person's stories. My work in the area of racial and social justice guided me towards the elevation and importance of understanding intersectionality and inclusion, because it is impossible and inhumane to see the humanity in one person while minimizing the humanity of another.
