About My Clients
I have special training in Child-Centered Play therapy from the number one ranked play therapy school in the world. In addition, I have worked with number of children experiencing Separation Anxiety. If your child has had difficulty separating from you or another attachment figure, it would be an honor to provide my specialized services.
My Background and Approach
My approach includes a 40-45 minute play therapy session weekly in a clinically designed play therapy room. Often times, I may include the attachment figure in the first few sessions and gently work towards healthy attachment between the therapist (myself) and the child. As the child learns safety, we can slowly challenge to separate from the caregiver. In addition, I am equipped with plenty of knowledge to help train caregivers/parents to better help their child outside of therapy.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My personal beliefs are that parents are often judged harshly by society. However, we are all human and all we can do is try to be the best parents we can be. Sometimes, things have happened to us as a family that we did not have control over. Or perhaps, our child simply may have been born with a particular temperament. Even if we as parents have made mistakes, we are still trying our best, and deserve patience and support.
