My Approach to Helping
I am a holistic practitioner focusing on all three aspects of health. I am an integrated social worker/therapist utilizing methods and tools to that best fit my client’s needs to support them in the changes they want to make in their lives, including psychoanalytical, mindfulness-based cognitive behavioral, narrative, and strength-based therapies. I am adaptable and work to meet my clients where they are. I believe in providing a compassionate space free of judgment, shame, and blame. I want to help you clarify your goals and provide you the tools needed to achieve those goals and thrive, living the life you want to live.
My Values as a Therapist
I have a core belief that all people are capable of change and growth. I work very hard to cultivate a nonjudgmental atmosphere where people feel accepted and affirmed. When people feel they are being judged that leads to shame and blame, and it makes them defensive and they're not open to change. I also believe that judgment gets in the way of creating relationships, and I value creating relationships with people. I am very passionate about empowering people through tools and knowledge to be able to change and heal themselves. I believe very firmly that food, and the things that we put in our body are medicine. I believe in the use of traditional medicines including psychoactive natural substances such as cannabis and psilocybin. I am a member of the Queer community as well as a decade-long practicing Buddhist. These lived perspectives, like all lived perspectives, heavily affect my worldview and approach to living.
