About My Clients
The clients I work best with are adults who are navigating symptoms of anxiety and/or trauma. I'm particularly passionate about working with the C-PTSD population and people erroneously diagnosed with BPD. My ideal client is willing to engage in collaborative and reciprocal conversation. They desire meaningful change, growth, and healing. They are open to both processing the past and preparing for the future, leaning on their strengths and learned tools.
My Background and Approach
I graduated with my master's degree in 2019 from Saint Mary's University of Minnesota. My career began in Intensive Outpatient DBT programs, where I facilitated DBT groups for adults with SPMI, adults with developmental delays, and adolescents. Working at Mental Health Systems (MHS) sharpened my skills in clinical diagnosis, working with SPMI, suicidality, BPD, and understanding levels of care and what local resources are available. I am trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) which is a trauma-processing tool similar to EMDR. I also incorporate DBT, ACT, IFS-informed parts work, and psychoeducation. I take a holistic and Gestalt approach; viewing humans as complex and multifaceted beings. I honor the mind-body connection and believe in the importance of both physical and mental health and wellness.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Three of my top values are Connection, Autonomy, and Authenticity. I will do my best to demonstrate these values through my clinical work as well as help my clients to foster these values, as well as their own. I recognize that the mental health complex in the USA is inherently intertwined with Capitalism and White Supremacy and do my best to challenge these systems of oppression within my work. I also fully support the LGBTQ+ and immigrant communities.
