About My Clients
I focus much of my working with LGBTQIA+ folks, particularly gender-expansive, trans, non-binary, and gender non-conforming people. I pride myself in prioritizing diversity in my practice, and hope to help underserved populations of all kinds. I am kink-friendly and informed, and also enjoy working with ethically non monogamous individuals.
My Background and Approach
I am a licensed professional clinical counselor in the state of California who has been practicing since 2015. I utilize psychodynamic, relational, CBT, REBT, mindfulness, and attachment theory in my work regularly, and try to target my approach based on individual needs and preferences. My extensive work with the queer and trans community is something I am proud of. I also work as an adjunct faculty member at a local graduate school, where I focus on sex education, psychopharmacology, and other topics. My goal is to create a warm and inviting atmosphere where authenticity and curiosity is valued. I use the therapeutic relationship as a healing one, modeling healthy relationships you can take with you into your life.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a queer woman, my work with the LGBTQIA+ community is both rewarding and integral to my personal and professional identity. I have spent my entire adult life advocating for the rights of the most marginalized folks in my community, with over a decade of interest and involvement in death penalty abolition, BLM, and BDS. Though I work in a private group practice, I have always offered a sliding scale and accept public marketplace insurance in order to reach as many people in need as possible. I work as a sex educator, and I am kink-friendly and informed, sex worker friendly, poly/ENM friendly, and prioritize working with BIPOC. I pride myself in not only centering my work with the trans community, but offering consultation to other professionals who are working with this community, including providing required letters for gender-affirming care when needed.
