About My Clients
You do NOT have to live with anxiety, depression, or difficulties in relationships, family, or work by yourself! You deserve a lighter and more joyful life. My affirmative approach includes learning new skills and changing beliefs and behaviors that are no longer serving you in a supportive environment. I offer virtual & in-person counseling with teens and adults, couples, and families. If you are motivated to change your life and explore new perspectives, I look forward to working with you!
My Background and Approach
I individually tailor my approach for each client. This is your journey: you are the driver in your own vehicle and I am in the passenger seat with a map and some road trip food (for thought)! To give you an idea of what the map may look like, please contact me for a free consultation! I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and strengths based approaches in my work. Together, we will explore how your thoughts, behavior, and feelings are connected and how changes in one can result in overall improvement. We will also discuss your strengths, skills, resources, and sources of joy. You are much more than "what is wrong" - let's use what is right to make positive changes. I base my work in feminist, anti-racist, affirming, and trauma-informed perspectives. Broadly, this means that I acknowledge the impact that our family, society, and culture has on our perceptions and wellbeing.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am deeply motivated by a belief that we all deserve to experience joy and a healthy life. In and out of the counseling environment, I acknowledge my privilege while striving to promote equity, inclusion, and joy for all my clients. My years working in the LGBTQIA+ community allows me to use research and experience to assist all of my clients to reach their full potential. I treasure the opportunity to work with clients to not only overcome difficult experiences but also find strength, gratitude, and healthy bonds with others.
