About My Clients

Clients who are drawn to my practice include people who are brand new to therapy and those who have tried traditional approaches and are interested in a somatically-integrative, holistic, mind-body approach. This includes people who are grappling with depression, anxiety, trauma-related symptoms, co-occurring mental and physical health symptoms, life transitions (e.g., transition to parenting, job or relationship), spiritual questions, and integration of non-ordinary states of consciousness.

My Background and Approach

I practice mind-body integrated, trauma-informed therapy & have extensive training in evidence-based treatments. I incorporate: Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP); Experiential Personal Construct Psychotherapy (EPCP); Somatic Experiencing (SE); Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT); Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT); Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT); Mindfulness-based therapy; Somatically-integrative approaches; Prolonged Exposure (PE) for PTSD; Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for PTSD ~ I have extensive post-doctoral training in treating complex sequalae of trauma including, dissociative disorders, co-occurring mental health and physical health symptoms, and functional disorders. ~ I am a certified yoga teacher (200 Hour YTT) and a co-developer of Recovery and Our Bodies: A Mindfulness-based Psychotherapy Group for Trauma Survivors Emphasizing Movement.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that each person is inherently resilient. I see therapy as a tool to help you deepen connection to self, access resilience through embodiment, learn new skills, change habits, explore intergenerationally inherited burdens & strengths and move from surviving to flourishing. I believe that relationships are essential for wellness and thus a strong therapeutic relationship is necessary for effective psychotherapy. I work in a client-centered way and see us as a team, partnered up as we explore, navigate, experiment and create. I see you as the expert in your own experience and strive to empower you to make choices in and outside the therapy room. I bring my scientist-practitioner training, expertise in trauma-informed care, experience as a fellow human, humor and optimism into my work. When I'm not working I enjoy practicing yoga, exploring shamanic practices for personal growth, hiking, cooking, seeing live music with friends and hanging out with my husband and baby.
