With more than 5 years of serving underrepresented populations including individuals from a low socioeconomic background, BIPOC individuals, individuals part of the LGBTBQ+ community, and neurodiverse folks, I am here to meet YOU where you are and join you alongside your therapeutic journey. You are the expert of your life and I simply help you navigate.
My Background and Approach
I specialize in creating a nurturing environment where young minds can express themselves, build coping skills, and develop a strong foundation for future well-being. With Children and teens, I embrace the innate playfulness of childhood. I incorporate innovative therapeutic modalities such as play therapy and sand tray therapy. These techniques allow children and teens to communicate and process emotions through play, art, and symbolic expression. By providing choice outside of traditional talk therapy, my goal is creating a space where they can engage in the therapeutic process in a way that feels most comfortable and authentic to them. Inclusivity is at the heart of my practice. I am committed to providing a supportive space for individuals of all gender identities and sexual orientations. I have extensive experience working with non-binary teens and trans teens, guiding them through the journey of self-discovery and identity affirmation.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that everyone has the ability to foster change and growth in their lives. I am also a strong believer in my clients being the expert of their own lives and I simply help them navigate. As a child, I suffered from my own familial trauma, sexual abuse, and domestic violence. I hope to foster a safe space for kids and adolescents to help them build coping skills and emotional regulation that can help them walk through life with ease. I believe play is healing and I invite my clients to participate in fun and expressive activities to access and heal our inner child. Being a bisexual woman, I am a strong supporter of the LGBTQIA2S+ community and my goal is to foster a space for adolescents and adults to freely explore their sexuality and identity without shame and with love and compassion. As a Chicana woman, I am also mindful of the Chicana experience and I strive everyday to educate myself of other culural beliefs to better serve my clients. I am also a therapist in therapy!
