About My Clients
We currently specialize in treating children, teens, adults, couples and families. We have specializations in depression & mood disorders, anxiety & stress management, life transitions (i.e., separation/divorce, retirement, loss, going away to college), women’s issues, working with college students, perinatal/postpartum mental health, relationships/intimacy issues, substance abuse and trauma recovery.
My Background and Approach
We are passionate about attending to you as a whole person. Wellness includes not just your physical body but your emotional and mental health, basic needs, social/intimate connections with others and your faith and spirituality. We want to respect and understand your specific needs in order to help you grow. Our therapists are well versed in cognitive-behavioral strategies, solution-focused and strengths based approaches, DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy), EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy, motivational interviewing and Emotion-Focused Couples Therapy. We can address long standing problems as well as more acute issues that may be holding you back from experiencing a more fulfilling and meaningful life.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
We recognize that life is full of inevitable change, within ourselves and our lives. It can be difficult to know how to adapt when change comes, particularly when things like anxiety, depression or low self-worth get in our way. We believe, however, that growing and healing comes from being in relationship with one another, and in fostering a positive relationship with oneself. We see the value and importance of having a secure attachment to our loved ones, where partners and family members can rely on one another physically, mentally, spiritually and emotionally. It is our goal to help individuals to develop the best versions of themselves, so that they can be the best partners, parents, family members, friends, employees or students that they can be. No one can be their best self all the time, but together we can help you to be your best self more often.
